The Department of International Relations was established in 2008 within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Giresun University and has started accepting students in the 2011-2012 academic year.

Since its foundation, the department has aimed to train qualified individuals in diplomacy, international politics, and foreign relations.
